Hiking

With its many mountain passes and summits, Sainte Foy Tarentaise is crossed by several renowned routes, along both high-altitude sectors and lower mountain slopes:
The Haute Tarentaise Inter-Village trail, which connects the 8 parishes in a 150 km loop, the High-Glacier route (70 km of trails including 3 km on glaciers, crossing Sainte Foy Tarentaise, Tignes, Valgrisenche and Rheme-Notre-Dame in Italy), the Grand Tour de Tarentaise (240 km in 25 stages), and the Via Alpina (5,000 km across 8 countries).

You can always choose to do just a small part of these mythical routes!

Hiking Tours

Sainte Foy offers magnificent varied hikes that stretch between the mountain of altitude, forests and pastures. From 890 m in the Isère valley to 3747 m at the top of the Grande Sassière. This is reflected by three stages of vegetation: mountainous, subalpine and alpine extended beyond 2700 to 3000 m altitude by a nival level.

the monal hike

Classed as one of the 'best Tarentaise walks and hikes.' Easy climb up a slope and/or path, then through forest. Very pretty path. Magnificent and so varied. Beautiful view of Mont Pourri.

the village of le monal

A perfect example of a Haute-Tarentaise village, Le Monal has long been a listed site. However, even this delightful collection of stone houses interspersed with larch trees on the edge of a small lake, cannot eclipse the breathtaking view of Mont Pourri.
